Safeguarding policy
Triglot Languages teaches adults first, and some learners under 18 one to one. This policy sets out how we keep young learners safe online. It follows the Department for Education's code of practice for out-of-school settings and NSPCC guidance on remote teaching.
Our commitments
The safeguarding lead is Amila Kahrimanović, who holds an enhanced DBS check with barred-list check and has completed safeguarding training. A criminal record certificate from Bosnia and Herzegovina covers the years before moving to the UK.
Lessons for under-18s begin only once the safeguarding set-up is complete and a parent or guardian has given written consent.
How lessons with under-18s run
The parent or guardian books, pays, holds the account and receives all messages. There is no direct contact with a child outside lessons and never through personal social media.
For learners under 13, a parent joins the start of each lesson and stays nearby, with the camera in a shared room of the home. For learners aged 13 to 17, a parent account and written consent from both parent and child are required.
Children and adults are never in the same group. Every session has a unique link and a waiting room. There are no private breakout rooms.
Lessons with under-18s are never recorded.
Reporting a concern
If a child is in immediate danger, call 999 in the UK or the local emergency number. Concerns about a child's welfare in England can be reported to the local council's children's services or to the NSPCC helpline on 0808 800 5000. Online abuse can be reported to CEOP at ceop.police.uk.
Concerns about anything to do with Triglot Languages should be emailed to hello@triglotlanguages.com. Every concern is logged, kept confidential and acted on.
Review
This policy is reviewed every twelve months and whenever guidance changes.
