Privacy notice
This notice explains what personal information Triglot Languages collects, why, how long it is kept and what your rights are. The data controller is Amila Kahrimanović, trading as Triglot Languages, in England. Contact: hello@triglotlanguages.com.
What we collect and why
Enquiries and consultations: your name, email, the language you want to learn, your goals, your level, when you are free, your time zone and, if a company is paying, its name. We use this to reply to you and arrange lessons. Legal basis: taking steps at your request before a contract.
Level test results: your answers and estimated level, and your email if you choose to receive the result. Legal basis: your request.
Lessons: lesson notes, homework, progress reports and your level history. Legal basis: performing our contract with you.
Payments: handled by our payment provider, Stripe. We see the amount, the date and the last four digits of a card, never the full card number. Legal basis: contract and our legal duty to keep accounting records.
Marketing email: only if you tick the box or are an existing learner who has not opted out. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe. Legal basis: consent, or the soft opt-in for existing customers.
Safeguarding records for learners under 18: kept in the legitimate interest of keeping children safe.
Website analytics: we use Umami, which sets no cookies and does not identify you, to count visits and see which pages are read. You can object by emailing us.
Who we share it with
Our suppliers process data on our behalf under written agreements: Vercel (website hosting), Supabase (database), Resend (email), Stripe (payments) and Google (email, calendar and video calls). Some are based in the United States and are covered by the UK-US data bridge or standard contractual clauses.
We never sell personal data and never share lesson notes with an employer without the learner's agreement. Companies receive attendance and progress summaries only.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become lessons: twelve months. Learner records: for the duration of your lessons and three years afterwards. Accounting records: six years, as UK law requires. Level test results without an email: not linked to you at all. Recordings, where they exist: ninety days unless you ask for them sooner or later.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its use, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@triglotlanguages.com and we will answer within one month.
You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would rather hear from you first, and complaints to us are acknowledged within thirty days.
Children
Accounts for learners under 18 are held by a parent or guardian. We collect the minimum needed to teach a child safely and never use a child's data for marketing.
Changes
We will update this notice when our processing changes and show the date at the top.
